    If you can, I would totally go with a card reader. It's safer for the camera.

    I had one but gave it away....because my new printer has a reader built into it.

    Without a reader of some sort...I would be stretched out on the floor...trying to climb behind my tower with a flashlight to find the right plug...

    and yes...I thought it a significant drain on my batteries!
