Well if it does turn out to be incontinence there are many different options.

There are several different medications. The one that Koli was just put on seems to be the safest of the three categories from what i've been reading. (see her topic for more info.)

The one person mentioned plain simple exercise cleared her dog's up. Now I'm not saying your brother's family is neglectful or overfeed Lucy, but i tend to notice that many lab owners don't give their dogs enough exercise. That and they have the extra challenge of not over feeding them as Labs seem to be chronically hungry/snacky/ having the munchies. I know she's a mix, but there's the possibility of the lab playing a role here. I don't know. I'd have to meet her and her family. ...I'm just tossing ideas out here. The exercise would both strengthen the muscles as well as loose extra fat. However you did say it was a recent spay. I've heard of some dogs leaking for a few weeks after the surgery. and also they have to keep the dog calm and not let it be too active. Stuck between a rock and a hard place until she's fully healed.

And then there are also herbal treatments instead of pills. I will be trying them in the future. I've looked all over for personal accounts on these products but no one on any of my boards have tried them. (I'm wondering if anyone could ask their holistic vet about it for me. I know we do have a few members that use holistic vets.)

Thank you for the response.
