    Fritz Not too perky

Fritz still not feeling the best,i had to carry him up to the bed last night with Mom,he stayed there until 11:30 and he was laying by the dining room table.he was layin gon the cold air register in the living room to keep cool after coming over to the couch and layed at my feet.I think right now ,he is behind the chair sleeping.Mom will be taking him to the vets later and getting some pills to help him feel better.there has been a virus going around here, people have had a similar thing to this and a lady Mom knows from church ,her dog has it.the virus that dad had while in the hospital is now here and only one person at a time can go in and see people. The medicine is called Metronidazole(Flagyl) and is taken evey few hours.Fritz had this same thing 2 years ago and he was 3 or days getting over it.i don't know if it had anyhting to do with his heartworm needle he had last week, .Let you know how he is later.
thanks very much devon. I have been boo'd.

What was the "heartworm needle" that Fritz had to have? I hope he's
feeling better soon. It's awful when they're sick.

    Feeling better

fritz is feeling better,it turns out,he gets a rabies shot and the heartworm needle at the same time every other year and the rabies shot is what is making him sick, only had the heartworm needle last year.He is getting an oral medicine Metronizadole every 8 hours which make him feel better. He had a little of meat from a Big Mac,had a little water, kept it down and he hasn't been sick at all since coming home.Fritz now snoozing in the kitchen,i tried getting him down,he just growled.heartworms are pasrasites that can cause blood valves in a dog's heart to close up.Thanks so much for everyone's concern, much appreciated.

Oh Fritz, sorry to hear you had a reaction to the rabies shot! Several of my furkids do as well. Just lay low and stay quiet, you will feel better before you know it.

So glad to hear this is nothing serious!
