I think the logo is hideous, I mean, I have seen bad or ugly logos before, but that one is especially ugly. Why fuscia pink? Why jagged, ugly blocks? Why does it look like it has nothing to do with sport?

The Bejing panda is cute, but otherwise I've never been impressed with any of the olympic logos.
I can kind of see the numbers 2012 (sort of)
Vibrant: yes.
Energy: yes, but it's not positive energy.
Youthful? No - childish!
Fun? No. More like *bad* graffiti.

"I don't know which weapons will be used in the third World war, but in the fourth, it will be sticks and stones" --- Albert Einstein.
Exactly - not youthful but childish in a bad way - like it was created by someone who only had access to dull scissors, no creativity, and not much for motor skills - otherwise he/she would have done a better job. Since when is hot pink associated with either sports or with London? I don't get it. And surely there was a search process - that's the scary part!
Well described Karen. And while it doesn't cause me epileptic fits...it does give me a certain physical reaction.....![]()
Karen, that was my first thought - some little kid got into the scissors and this is the result. Rather like a bad haircut.
As for the Chinese dolls, I think it is the colors that I find offensive as they are so harsh.
Yep that about sums up my opinion of it as well.Originally Posted by Karen
I believe they paid $800,000 for that piece of poop. How embarassing for the person or persons who came up with the concept. I couldn't read it at first. I had to look really hard to see the numbers.
Did they think it would appeal to the younger generation? I don't know.
I love Fenway, JoJo, Olivia and Nonnie!
Looks like bad 60s architecture. Really really ugly- it should provoke friendly feelings in people and that's so NOT what it does.
For all those who wondered what this logo was supposed to represent -

- now you know!
LOL...that cartoon is great...so now we ALL know the concept behind this disgusting excuse for 'art'.![]()
You know as for the beijing one. The more I see it the more I like it. I like that is it so typically chinese. I like the way each character has taken on the color of one of the olympic rings. They are fun, cute, colorful and appealing for me. But that is JMO.
Hey, what about that goofy, crossed-eyed Walt Disney creation from the 84 L.A. games?
