Little Madeleine - she could be anywhere

The whole thing is heartbreaking for sure and I imagine the parents are going through a living hell right now. As I see how much attention this is getting in the news, though, it makes me hurt for the many other families who are going through this same situation and their stories are of no interest to the media.

Her parents and all their friends and relatives are the ones keeping the media machine going.

I keep bumping this thread because I said I would and I guess that I'm a bit superstitious about stopping it

Was on the news today that a call had been made to police by someone claiming to know where Madeleine is.........its a sad indictment on the world we live in that this call appears to be a hoax

As this thread appears to have gone as cold as the trail in the hunt for Madeleine the next time I post will be to say that she has been found

The police are treating this seriously. Here is an excerpt from the Guardian, dated 2 hrs ago:

"Officers in Portugal are investigating the letter's claims and are poised to visit Odiaxere. Dutch police said part of the reason the letter was being taken so seriously was because it was similar to one sent to the same newspaper last June following the disappearance from the city of Liege, in Belgium, of two girls: Stacy Lemmens, seven, and Natalie Mahy, 10.

In that case the author claimed to know where the girls had been buried. The children's bodies were found two weeks later in a storm drain near a railway crossing a short distance from the location identified in the letter."
