I think you're right on. A cat person has to deal with the fact that the animal is going to be around you when THEY want to be. A dog is much more accomodating, and needs someone who will give them lots of attention. I do find dog people to be more outgoing, talkative, gregarious. Cat people on the whole tend to be more reserved, quiet, independent and sometimes eccentric. I think it does relate to the whole idea that cats are (in theory) solitary animals, whereas dogs have evolved with a pack mentality. I think there is a definite connection between a cat/dog lover's personality and their animal.
