Ok, sounds like Pyka could be on the mend now and that's so good to hear! Start slowly, Pyka, no need to start bouncing around all at once!![]()

.
Update - he does NOT like his collar; will be on just one tab of Prednisone...he has to go back every Thursday for the next 4 weeks to get stents and stitches out.
Poor Pyka - but poor Mom, she just loves both boys, and I know she is worried and stressed!
Please - major PT Prayers for Pyka and my mom!!!

I'm glad to hear that his surgery is over and that he's doing well.I hope that he'll recover quickly and be a good boy and take all of his meds. I've never known a cat to like an e-collar. I'll continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
Tuesday. Pyka had a better night...still wants to sleep on a backpack on the closet shelf, so mom made it easier for him to get up there and put a blanket on it.
He hates his cone - what cat doesn't?But all in all, his behaviour is WAY better, he is eating some, mom is stocking up on chicken baby food. Lid is OFF the litter box as he can't get in!
Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts...hopefully the ear was much of the problem, and it will heal soon.![]()

Overall, good news. That's great!

Better news....Pyka had his first vet checkup Thursday morning. Vet said collar stays on another 2 weeks. Healing on ear is good.
He slept from last night til this morning - and so did Mom, thankfully! He is not hiding so much, just picking more remote places to sleep.
He is eating well, and calmer all around.
I kind of hope the collar can come off next Thursday...but we'll see...

Good info from WebMD on Prednisone.

Good one for how it affects pets...

This is encouraging! I didn't realize cats tolerate steroids better than dogs. Usually everything in the world is toxic to cats.
