When I adopted Sugar from rescue last December, I was told to NEVER take her out in the car and leave her. Like when I shop for groceries in winter? (I would never leave a dog in the car in warm weather.) Because bichons always LOOK like pups all their lives; and people actually put a fist through the window to get the dog!

I remember one time when we first got Stell, it looked like someone tried to pull her through the semi-opened window of our car. We left her in the car with the windows about 1/3 down (in the fall, it wasn't very warm), and when we came back, her collar was broken, she was acting funny, and there were pawprints on the window (this from a dog who I've NEVER seen jump at the side windows). We figured it was because she was a Yorkie-poo, and someone wanted a breeding dog, or some PETArd felt that a dog shouldn't be kept in the car, and tried to 'liberate' her. It's quite disturbing how often this kind of thing happens.
