Im in Arizona and we never change our time when we have to for other states, which is pretty nice. Right now it is 10:42pm.

I am in China which is 12 hours of American EST and 2 hours behind Australia. It is 4.10 pm on Sunday May 27 right now - tea time!

I guess it's because Europe (mainly Britain and France) were competing to obtain the central time of the world. Britian won, so I guess to the rest of Europe that makes us the 'meanest' country!
