He he, NO, you don't "have" to pick the male flowers to get the baby pumpkins.
Weeding not necessary. A little dehydrated cow manure from your local garden shop for fertilizer, a few bees to do the pollinating thing, water, and voila!

Yup I believe it's a pumpkin patch! The pumpkin grows where the flower is blooming. I think I would probably thin the plants out to just 2 or 3 so that you will have room for them to get the nutrition they need. Yay! You can carve your very own and know it is fresh![]()
