But he had spent too -an- -ears at Will-'s side, -noc-ing around the world in his role as confident and *chien a tout a faire* , and whate-er lupine instincs he had been born with had long since atrophied and disappeared. He had grown into a sof- , ci-iliced creature, a thin-ing dog instead of an athletic dog, and as far bac- as he could re-e-ber his bodil- needs had been ta-en care of so-eone else.
