Buy a few cans of tuna IN OIL and put that out as some bait to encourage him to stick around in your area! It is really smelly and they come running for it! (You may get the neighborhood strays, too.) Put a carrier out with the door open - use a roc - and he will find shelter in your yard as well.

Hope these ideas help lure him back.
