Tonya, how about going to Sitting Bull Falls on Saturday? You could meet us here at the park and then we can go to the falls?

That way we can let the pups run around for a bit in our "pooch park" and get tired out, then go over to the falls.

You might want to check with some of "the Locals" about the trip to
Sitting Bull Falls ... MapQuest says the distance from Carlsbad to SB Falls
is only 43 miles; but the travel TIME is 1 Hour + 18 Minutes = 33 mph average speed.
NM #137 might not be the smoothest road in the State!

It has been AGES since I've been to Sitting Bull Falls - I don't remember how long it takes to get there. We've had quite a bit of rain this past week so, I'm not sure what condition the non-paved roads will be in.

How Long; How Far?

Hobbs to Carlsbad = 70 miles & 1 Hour + 10 Minutes drive time

Carlsbad to Sittin Bull Falls = 43 miles & 1 Hour + 18 Minutes drive time

Sitting Bulls isn't too far - and we've already made plans to go there (and called the park themselves) so there's no need to worry, Phred.

Our camp neighbors were there with their dogs yesterday and they didn't express any troubles. It's an incredibly dog friendly area apparently.


We will be bringing the dogs with us (how could I go somewhere water related and NOT bring Kiara? )
