Thanks everyone. A friend and neighbor of my parents is bringing over a casserole and we're all getting together for dinner.

I again feel very lucky to have known my grandparents (I had three sets - Dad's parents divorced and remarried). Andy never knew his. They passed away when he was a child.

Also, say a prayer for my sister Linn and her husband Nick. Nick's dad has throat cancer and they just found more tumors and a biopsy showed it was aggressive. They give him between 2 days and 6 months.

I am so sorry, Kimmy You are very fortunate to have grandparents at your age, and I wish I could say the same. My grandfather on my moms side passed away when mom was just a teenager, and her mother passed away when I was 4 I think. My grandparents on my fathers side also passed away when I was an infant. You are so blessed to have been able to grow up with your grandparents and I know they were glad, also, to have such a wonderful granddaughter.

*hugs* to you, and rest in peace, Grandma

So sorry for the loss of your grandmother. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
