I will be thinking of all of you, especially Robin and Amber, as always. Wish there were something I could do for you all but I am even farther away right now.

    Prayer request

My sister-in-law is a middle school teacher. She left at 5 this morning for Washington D.C. (14 hours by bus) with over 100 eighth graders. This is her 3rd year making the trip. They cram so much into just a few days. Pray for their safe travel and that the kids will learn a lot and be good representatives for their school.
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!
Brrrr, I've been Frosted! Thank you, Asiel and Pomtzu!

I am still keeping all requests in my prayers!

I am going through a trying time right now, could you guys keep me in your prayers please? I don't really feel like going into it all, so I'll just request an unspoken. Thanks.

I'll bet even God is over this!

She needs more than Prayers ...
Maybe an all-expenses paid trip to the Phunnie Pharm!

Actually ... the kids do great. They just seem to sponge up everything they are seeing. For some of them it is their first time away from home. I think 108 or 118 kids going this year, 3 buses. Last year, the kids said their favorite thing was seeing the monuments lighted up at night. We will see what it is this year. She's got the Phunnie Pharm at home with our family so maybe a few days away isn't a bad thing.

One more bit of good news, my nephew was chosen to go to Turkey on an archeology work trip this summer, yay! I don't know that much about Turkey except that it is located near Greece, has a history going back centuries, the home of Turkish Angora and Turkish Van cat breeds, and currently mostly Muslim. I bet I will learn more about Turkey and the Muslim religion as he gets ready to go, though.

A dear friend's ex-husband went to the ER for a severe headache. They diagnosed him with head and neck cancer-stage 4. I just ask everyone to pray for him as there is nothing that can be done except radiation to try and shrink the tumors, they are inoperable. It does not look very promising. He has a 12-year-old son who adores him and he is going to need lots of prayers, prayers for comfort and understanding. Please keep them in your thoughts. Thank you.

I would like to make one...

I was fired in September from my job.

I am fighting to get it back thru my union and I have been going thru the
    process with a union steward.

Basically My job was putting info into a system that tracks operations, for the longest time I had to wing it because we had no system administrator.

THere was no way I could run reports on the system so I could track my mistakes! THe last Sys Admin locked me out of the sytem after they fired him for being on disability and working with his father in construction.

When they hired a new sys admin and she had no experience in the medical field. That is where the problems began. She 'knew it all' and began to change everything. She disliked me because they would bypass her to get answers to questions that she should have known.

Anyway she started to track all my mistakes-when I asked her for a report to audit my work she denied me any kind of help ir access to reports so I could clean up the work. She told the big bosses that I didn't need to run any reports-and wasn't given the chance to fix any errors.

Long story short, I was fired because of my mistakes. Even after begging everyone for assistance. The big bosses took her word over my 17 years of experience and my constant requests for help.

I got a call from one of the ladies that worked with her and she told me that the EVIL sys admin was removed from that position! I suspect that her inability to be a team player came back to bite her!

So, now that things have changed I am hoping that this may be a sign...

I could use some good vibes?

    Thanks PTers!

My nephew left on July 7th. He flew from here to Istanbul, and then from Istanbul to Ankara. He will be on the archeology site until the middle of August and have a few days to see the city of Istanbul before returning home. This is the team's 10th summer there and they have a good relationship with the people of the nearby village. He was told to dress modestly, nothing very tight or very old and worn out. He will be on a team working with mortar. I'm sure he will learn a lot while he's there. I'll keep you posted.

Whoops, I forgot that I needed to update! The kids did great. The trip was not totally glitch-free but overall went really well. They graduate this week.

Talked to my mom a bit ago, she told me that my dad was taking his mother to the hospital (his father is the one in the hospital already.) She said that she was having chest pains.

I imagine a lot of the anxiety/stress of her husband being there has worn her down. Please think of the both of them.

    Edit/Update:
They think my grandmother had another mini-stroke like she did last time. She is okay for now, they are keeping her overnight for observation.

Please continue to keep my grandfather in your thoughts. This will be the first night that my grandmother doesn't visit him and he'll be wondering where she is, and we'll have to tell him that she is in the hospital as well.

Also, being that they are both my father's parents, keep him in your thoughts especially.

ALSO, (sorry for clogging up this thread!) but my grandparents have 3 dogs. They were already very confused as to why my grandpa wasn't home, but now their mommy isn't home. My cousin is caring for themright now, I may go over later in the night to let them out.

I'm sorry your grandma and grandpa are both in the hospital, Kay. Praying for a quick recovery for both of them.

    Thanks, Alyssa, I appreciate it.

    My grandma came home today.
Tomorrow, my grandpa is being transferred to a temporary nursing home/rehabilitation center. My dad and grandma went and checked it out today.

The good thing is that they will allow his dogs to come visit him. He will be VERY happy about that as he misses them so much. My dad and grandpa promised him that if the transfer goes well and he cooperates tomorrow, they will bring his favorite dog, Angel, to visit him. The visiting hours are whenever and you're allowed as many people as you want. The hospital's visiting hours were only from 6:30-7:30 and you were only allowed 2 people at a time. Barely enough time for all of us to really visit with him.
