I dunno about the wolf/dog hybrids. My friend's cousin has a GSD/wolf and she's licensed and everything. It could very well be illegal, but there's no definitive way to pin you down so I guess you could slide on that. I'm not endorsing anything though!

is she positive its actually part wolf(ie seen the parents)?
I know quite a few that are passed off as wolves or wolf hybrids.

they are illegal accourding to the fish and game site and California code of regulations, title 14, Section 671. ofcourse I don't live in CA so i'm just going by that.
