I did. Hopefully they were listening! The last time Stuart went away for work wasn't good! Both Kasha and Preacher died while he was away. I can deal with sick and injured on my own, although I'd rather not, but dealing with two deaths on my own was brutal!

OMG.. I'm just reading this thread now. Poor Kayleigh! I can't even imagine what would possess a dog to eat a box of toothpicks! Geez!! That has to be so painful for her, poor girl!

I'm glad she's doing better. She looks like a big fluffy doggie, perfect to snuggle and cuddle with if she lets you.

Thoughts and prayers going out to you and Kayleigh. Hope nothing else happens while you are at home by yourself.

Oh no. I am so sorry. Well, listen up gang, I sure hope you listened to Mom and are extra super careful while Dad is away. We don't need to put her through anything like that again. Ya hear???
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    LOL@Phred! What a fabulous idea!

Kayleigh is doing very well today. She actually wants to play tonight. She's supposed to be quiet, but I threw her rope toy a few times for her anyway. It was nice to see her acting like her normal self.

She is such a doll. I just now saw those pics. I'm so glad she's feeling better. I hope she continues to improve. Her feet do look huge. She's also a fuzzy thing. I would love to give her a big hug but since I can't, you do it, ok?

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Kayleigh got her stitches out today. She was such a good girl! A long time away, we taught her "show me your belly" as a command. Came in handy today. Not sure how we would have convinced her to lay down and roll over otherwise. She had 30 or so stitches and 10 staples in her belly. I could have taken the stitches out at home, but I don't have a staple remover. It's free to have the vet techs do it anyway!

In earlier years, Kayleigh would have had to been muzzled to have anything done to her. Today she laid down, showed off her belly and only even looked at the tech once or twice and that was on very tight stitches.

She got a hamburger on the way home for her good behavior!

Sounds like the hamburger was well deserved! Must be nice to have the stitches and staples out.
