Yes, that's why I haven't volunteered for GSD fostering yet, only Leonbergers. How would I be able to give up an adorable GSD??

You had better take her home quick! She's a cutie!

she will love being home with you. She looks like she needs another hug and a rub and a nice visit on the couch.

I am glad you thought this over thoroughly. Yes, it is very hard with more than 3 dogs and I probably would not foster if I did not have as much help. You see I volunteer at shelters so I can rescue some dogs from death row or very ill or behavior problem dogs at no charge, also the vets office I work for gives me a big discount on my own dogs then they are even more understanding w/ the rescues as I hardly ever have to pay anything for treatment & meds (I probably would have to pay more if I had more rescues but I try not to have more than 1 or 2 rescued dogs at a time). Also I get to bring the rescues to work with me and to the shelter while I volunteer if I have to. And while teaching obedience & agility they can also come if need be. I also help out with my family's business and can bring the dogs there to work with me too. So pretty much my only downfalls are buying food and getting free time to myself. Free time to myself? Hmm what is that? LOL

Oh yes, I forgot the biggest downfall is letting them go after you get attatched. You have to have a big strong heart for this. I know they are going to good homes and most go to neighbors, friends & family or friends of friends eetc.. so I can visit & check up on them but it is still hard. I have cried and/or gotten teary-eyed at I think everyone I have ever had. It is ussually a combination of happy & sad tears.

Luck? Actually I think it is the food we feed them (Sensible Choice Lamb and Rice) and also Sadie gets a vitamin supplement to help the pad son her feet which get really dry and that helps with hre coat. We brush them 1 a week or so and only give baths when needed so they don't dry out. Nothin too unusal really

Ok, did I miss your decision?? Are you NOT going to get the little girl or are you getting her, or are you still thinking about it. I'm SOOOO confused. It was a hellish week. We gave the ISTEP (the ridiculous Indiana Department of Education's worthless standardized test...nah...I don't have any strong opinions about it or anything! lol) all week and the kids AND the teachers are pretty braindead, so, therefore, my brain is not functioning on all cylinders. As a result, please forgive my inattentiveness. She really is a doll.

PS Your dogs do look sooo healthy and happy.

Mugsy- I think you are just as confused as I am I haven't really made a final decsion yet. There was an adoption event today, and I didn't go get her, so the choice may have been made for me. I'm sorta leaning toward not right now. I do want more dogs, but I think maybe we should wait awhile.

Well, the decision was made for me. Pooche went to her forever home this weekend. Yeah! It wasn't mine, but hey, when the time is right I will know it!

Aww, I'm glad Pooche has a home. You're right, when it is meant to be, it will happen for you. There's a doggy somewhere in your future that is going to need you as much as you need him/her.
