Yes, we use them all the time. We also use safety releases that snap (velcro) if its pulled hard, like the dog jumping off. A dog should NEVER be left unattended at a table, you should be right there with them, so if they did jump you can grab them. I've been grooming for over 4 1/2 years, I've had plenty of dogs jump off the table (and the safety release snapped when they did) and none have been injured at all. I've never seen a dog "snap its neck and die" from a restraint, neither has my boss who has been grooming for 13+ years. Ours also have a 2nd loop that goes around the middle, so its not just attached to the neck. Ours are not like a choke collar, they do not tighten around the neck when pulled on. If you use them properly and have some common sense they are fine. Personally, I think its safer, the dogs (at least most of them) know they are supposed to stay put when wearing that and they aren't constantly trying to leap off the table.
