I will do what ever it takes to save this beautiful planet. As humans we do not have a right to destroy this pecious world. Planet Earth does not belong to us anymore then it does to the smallest creature. It belongs to every specious equally. Wether fish or foul we all call this wonderful place home, it is the only home we have. For me to be selfish and say I won't do this or that to save this planet is so sad and dooms every living creature. Time to stop thinking of our own comfort and wants and to look in the faces of the polar bears who are starving because of global warming. We made this mess, we are the only creature to pollute this planet and we are the only creature who can fix it.

I don't meant to make phun of this thread but as a kid growing up I often heard my Dad say in a teasing way "Go easy kids. That stuff is expensive and you should be using one square both sides."
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I don’t believe it’s totally man made, but we certainly have something to do with it for sure!

It seems that some people start realising how serious this is, but I think it’s a bit late!

The ice is melting twice as fast as previous thought, since 1979 the melted ice is twice the size of Texas, or 5 times the size of United Kingdom! Just imagine that!

Emissions from planes are said to double in the next 25 years.

If the sea level continue to rise at the level they predict, the city of Miami will be 5 miles offshore - and 50 million people would be displaced within 50 years!

The question is, what do we all do about it?

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

The world will be just fine. (It was just fine for the 4.5 billion years before we arrived on the scene).

Sure, some species will be extinct, but others will flourish. Miami may be in the ocean, so people who currently own the less desirable inland properties will be able to have beach-front condos!

What seems to be ignored is what I consider to be the real problem -that there are only a finite number of resources to support a finite number of organisms. As long as we humans continue to over-populate this planet, the other species will be crowded out. A global effort at human birth control would go a long ways to helping insure that there is enough resources for all living creatures on this planet.

These are not the droids you were looking for

  14. There are people who do not believe we are over-populating the world with too many consuming too much while creating too much waste?

Doesn't surprise me. There are people who do not believe in evolution.

There are people who do not believe in the Holocaust.

We have begun changing our lightbulbs, recycling, walking to do our errands, and anything else we can to reduce our contribution.

I don't have any kids to worry about...but it seems a shame to waste such a nice planet....

How do these two things compare?
