You both have my prayers. I am so hopeful that Raven can beat this!

I haven't been on PT much lately so I've completely missed this.I'm so sorry to hear about Raven...I know what it's like to have a dog with cancer. If you ever want to talk, you know I'm here. Good luck with everything Jess, I'll be rootin' for you guys.
I've been BOO'd!
You guys are really the best. That sounds so lame but I mean it with all my heart. Animal/pet people truly are some of the kindest people I know.
Kay, if that is nerdy than I am a nerd too. I always want to read up and learn about things like that too. I've read a few articles and it seems to be one of the more common types of cancers in dogs, however it is not so common for it to occur in such a young dog. I've read it is more common in dogs who have gums with dark pigmentation, which Raven does have. You can see in this picture the dark pigmentation in her gums in that area:
I am trying to learn all I can from this too. Thank you again for all your love and support.

That's so interesting -- we have a black standard poodle that comes in to be groomed who had a similar tumor on his toe and it had to be amputated -- about a month after, I met someone with a black giant schnauzer who is missing several toes due to tumors on them. She told me the vet said dogs with black feet and toenails are more susceptible. I wonder if some cancers really are to do with pigment! I hope my black doggies never go through what you and Raven are going through. But I know you guys will get through it!Originally Posted by K9soul
