UGH tell me about it.... I am so frustrated about that. it has been forever. I think it is safe to say that perhaps this particular package has made it's way to auction. I hope whoever buys it pays a lot of money for it... jerks lol.

I will make a new one.

You never know what you will learn on PT. By the way, when are the US postal rates going up? I think it's soon but honestly I did not pay full attention when I was listening.

Yes, unclaimed packages are auctioned by the USPS. Much of what is auctioned, however, are insured packages which were damaged and refused. After the claim is paid, the postal service auctions off the packages to try and recoup losses from shipping insurance, as the USPS is self insured.

    HOWEVER

The postal service has to make many, many attempts to either deliver the package or return it to the original sender.

If properly addressed, it is HIGHLY doubtful that a package is ever sent to auction.

There are many variables which go into how long it takes for something to get from one place to another. If you sent it book rate, third class, or parcel post, it can take time to get from point A to point B.

It is just amazing to me that a package sent for just about the same amount of postage is said to make overseas in 2-4 days.... but can't make it one state over in over 3 weeks.

Much of that may depend on the local post office.
