Poor Norton! I'm sure he'll enjoy his chicken and butter. I hope he gets better right away so he can come home to his sleeping spot between the pillows.

Sounds like Norton is in excellent hands with your vet! More prayers and healing energies for him...

CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Norton was so happy to see us, that not only did he head butt us, he also head butted his litter box!! I put Bach Rescue Remedy on his ears, he munched on the chicken, licked the butter off my finger, and ate the special diet, Royal Canin SO. After we got home, we got a call from Dr. Ascher. A full bladder was palpated, Norton passed about 1 and a half tablespoons of urine. SO, he is not emptying his baldder. Dr. Ascher gave him a pain med and steriods to help him. He will be checked in the morning, fo he does not empty his bladder, Norton will have to be re-catherized. My poor boy!!! Also, blood was drawn for a T-4, the vet felt an enlarged thyroid gland!! Thanks for all the prayers, please keep them coming, Norton sure can use all he can get!!!

Lots of prayers going out to Norton and you. It's a good thing you were there to notice his problem right away. Keep the faith.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Awe... Poor Norton! I hope that he can start peeing more on his own. I doubt he liked having a cath in him Did the vet give any ideas as to why he can't/won't empty his bladder on his own or is it that he's still blocked??? I've never had to deal with a blocked kitty, although with the way mine have been peeing on everything in the house, I almost wish they were!

I hope they find the reason for Norton's bladder problems soon. Poor little guy, a catheter is no fun.
