i have experience with cockatoos. (i have recently adopted the sulphur crested cockatoo that i have been babysitting for a while.) not a pet for everyone. i'd also strongly suggest a tiel for beginnger as it is an easier pet. good luck. can't impagine thart you still have time for a pet bird when you are working in the human society. it's just great.
