Unfortunately, cats are considered as property and not family. We feel differently, of course, but that doesn't change the law. The financial compensation that litigants might get will hardly be worth the time and it certainly won't compensate them for the emotional pain that they've experienced or the physical pain and ultimate deaths that their beloved pets experienced. To discover that the buck is being passed comes as no surprise to me and probably to none of you either.
