Very nice! I'm impressed, they must think highly of their employees, to give a nice gift. That's a company that sounds like they want to hang on to the good ones!

For my 5th year I picked a gold chain. All their awards have the company imblem (spelling?) so the chain came with that charm already on it. The clock also has it on the gold plate. You can select luggage, clothes, jewelry, golfing stuff... stuff like that. They are always sending out safety awards. We got a watch several years ago for 2 years without a loss time injury so that is why I didn't want the watch for the service award.

Not long ago we got a really nice T-shirt and cap with a new logo that they held a contest on for the employees to come up with a newer image and they got a wonderful one, had it put on the shirts and hats for us and sent all the employees one (they were extra nice ones too!). We get safety bonuses every 4 months $$$$, all kinds of perks.

I think it is great that they do that, it lets us know they realize what we give up to work for them, what important things we miss and just showing they care means a lot! Of coarse we get P o'ed from time to time by a new rule or new idea someone comes up with like everyone does on any job but these "tokens" encourage you a LOT!

    * How many MILES you've traveled on the River?
    * How many Locks you've passed through?
    * Eggs & Pancakes you've cooked for breakfasts? Couldn't count them all!
    * Hamburgers you've cooked for lunches? Burgers 12 to 16 every Saturday night.........
    * Steaks you've grilled for dinners? We LOVE steak day, that's every Saturday!
    * How many MILES you've traveled on the River? Hummmm.... I've done the entire Mississippi, upper and lower (The upper only twice, the lower I couldn't count), The Ohio, Cumberland, Illinois, Chicago.... Can't remember the rest.
    * How many Locks you've passed through?.. All on the upper Mississippi, some on the Ohio and some in various other places that I have forgotten about.

One thing I tried this last trip was a BIG breakfast for supper and that was the biggest hit with the guys that I have had in a long time. So many love breakfast foods but don't eat breakfast.. They ALL ate that night and the Captain and engineer showed up a hour early wanting to eat! The stove was just about clean when they all finished eating... I gotta do that again!

The golden spoon award? I LIKE that idea... (make note to self "Must tell the company that one!)
