I think a sofa that had more of a tapestry pattern would be really nice. Or, a brownish chocolate sofa with tapestry pillows on it.
I like these sofas, not necessarily all the colors however.

This is only my opinion... I just thought the classic styles would go better with your entertainment center and the painting and frame.
LOL! Everyone is trying to get me to KEEP what I have!!! I know these types are what go best with my ENT. cnter... but unfortunately I'm stuck with it, as it is my newest piece! I need to put something else with it, or go back to my same 'ole couch. LOL!

Am I stuck with my current couch?

OK ... here is my current couch minus the pillows that came with it ... they were yuck ... I have tried to find new pillows, but cannot find any LARGE enough!

Here is my current end table ... I had two but messed the other up by trying to paint it white!

Here is the sofa table which I hate because the shape makes it impossible to decorate .... there isn't enough room to put hardly anything on it but a lamp ... and it just is an awkward piece.

Also, I "had" a round glass topped coffee table (the best piece of this group) but I also "ruined" it by painting it white.

I would love to do that, but the standard size slip-covers don't fit this sofa! It is large and with the curved backing, I'd have to get one custom made ... so why not just get a new sofa? LOL

There are two problems I see with the room. 1) it took me a minute to figure out what's the yellow thing? Must be a vacuum cleaner handle. And 2) I don't see a single cat or dog in the picture.

Kim, I really like the painting, I think the entertainment cabinet is very pretty and I wish I had ceilings high enough to use such a strong wall color. My house is ... beige. Except for the carpeting, which is pearl beige (whatever that means).

Kim, What about some wrought iron? A wrought iron coffee table or end table? Would be strong but more open....

And what about...no curtains? (I see them peeking behind the sofa...) GOrgeous...but again...thinking of reducing distractions. Some blinds or shutters instead?

I would love wrought iron! Would you go with black or a gold tone? Also, with glass tops or wood?

No curains would be GREAT ... then no kitties can climb them and they won't collect cat hair! LOL! I do have the wide slatted white blinds behind the curtains .... they um need to be cleaned from kitty sneeze too!

There should be choices other than black or gold. What about a verdigris? Or a brown? We bought a brown iron bed. When I had trouble finding a lamp to match that I like..I bought a white one and spray painted it. I would go for glass...lighter look.

No curtains might be good for your allergies as well. Curtains do hold molds, cat hair, etc. (For that reason I have no curtains in my house...)

Right .... I didn't really mean Gold Gold ... I would love a brown tone. I love shutters, but do you think they would be the right style if I get a more clean-lined Contemporary sofa?

Husky Mom - I'm (unfortunately) not keeping the painting. It's just the wrong style for what I want to go with now! I agree a lighter shade couch against the dark wall too!

You might even find wrought iron in the same tone as your entertainment center.....

Or just a simple scarf along with some blinds.

We made a purchase today! I hope we made the right ones!!!
I have looked all over the internet for our sofa and loveseat and can't the exact one anywhere. They are made by Simmons and are the Microsuede! They are in what they call beige, but in certain lighting they have just enough of a buttery cast that I HOPE they will match with my Ent. Center.

We also purchased these 3 tables:

Everything won't be delivered until Tuesday, so we have to move all the old stuff out and put a fresh coat of paint on the walls this weekend. Now I get to go accessory shopping!

  13. How about a bright, light area rug to pull it all together. A faux-oriental? I love the one in the first pic Critter Crazy posted. Tuesday Morning usually has some real deals.

Looks like you are really coming along!

if you buy dark couch with dark red wall it wil seem pretty dark overall....... so with the red walls and the creamy ent. center I would go for a creamy couch or maybe not so creamy but still light enough to stand out from the dark red.......

you can get the couch in any color of the flowers of the painting as long as it´s not dark and you can accent it with dark cushions or a throw.....in the color of the walls or similar shades......

the painting would lok good if you can take the frame off or if you paint it with other lighter shade........

I LOVE the sofa. How about changing out the curtains (i saw them in the back) or finding some material at a fabric store to compliment the sofa.

As for the end tables, just strip them totally and restain. They don't have to be "ruined".
