That was so sad It really makes you stop and think what pets are going through. Everyone should stop letting their dogs have puppies so the dogs that don't have homes will get a loving home. Thanks for sharing that, but it was so sad... I want to adopt my next dog from petfinder if I can. Have any of you guys ever adopted from there, and if you did what do you have to do to adopt the dog??

What a sad but true story. It is so hard to find homes for animals anymore because alot of animal lovers and rescuers are at there limit and some over. There are just so many that need homes. I wish people would spay and neuter there pets.

Oh my god I was crying like crazy the Blue, my dog, came over and licked my face which made me cry more. That is such a touching and sad story.

I wish that more people would adopt. I am currently trying to convince my friend to go adopt her soon-to-be dog instead of going to a breeder.

I cry every time I read this, but I re-read it again any way. It reminds me that I am human, and compasionate.

This is the line that always starts the tears flowing.

" At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was you that you had changed your mind "

I think every person who is surrendering a family pet should be required by law to listen to this essay.
