They are so cute! I haven't had baby chicks in 15 years or more... I hope you have a great time with them! I love the little black & white ones.

Lute, city slicker question here ... what will you do with the baby chicks when they're ... uhmm ... grown? Will you move them to a hen house? They sure are cute.

the chicks will be moved outdoors to a fenced area with a hen house when they are 5-6 weeks old. IF the weather is nice enough. Unfortinatly, I live too close to neighbors to keep any roosters. since these chicks are straight run i may have to find homes for the ones that turn out to be roosters.

Will you be able to collect eggs from them???

They are VERY cute! I see them at the farm store, in a couple weeks, along with the baby ducks and baby turkeys etc. I always wonder how many are going to end up . . . on a dinner table!

Too bad you live so far away, I can always use more roosters! I love my roosters!

Freedom, yes! In a few months the pullets(hens that havn't laid any eggs yet) will lay big brown eggs. Fortinatly NONE of my chickens will be eaten. I could never eat one of my pets. It would just be wrong. I hate seeing the fryer chicks at feed stores. Poor things are guarenteed to die and probably be eaten.

critter crazy, I wish I lived closer to you too! I'd be visiting your big puppies and lovely chickens all the time!
