Well she's still alive today everyone. She is certainly a fighter. I still don't think she is going to survive, but you never know, fish can surprise you. I did a treatment on her this morning. I dont' know if anyone has ever heard of this, but to heal a fish sore you can take the fish out of the tank for a few seconds of course and take a Q-tip dipped in Iodine and put the tip of the q-tip on the sore on the fish and then put the fish back in.

I have used that on my goldfish when they got sores in their fins and it heals them up so nicely.

Has anyone ever heard of that method before?

As far as I knew, iodine is highly toxic for fish. Where did you hear of this method?

I have known it for many years. And I think its only toxic if it gets near their gills or mouth or eyes, its mainly used for sores on fins and you only dap a tiny bit of iodine on it and then put it back into the water. When my fish get sores on their fins, I do that and they heal right up and my fish are healthy as a horse. But I heard it from some fish people and a pet store owner before.

That's cool. Maybe I'll try it next time I get a fish with anchor worms or fish lice. I can't leave them in the store like that when I see them. Usually it takes a week or two for the sores to heal so I'll have to see what this iodine does. Right now though I'm selling off all but 5 of my current goldfish so I can concentrate on show quality golds and tropicals.
