Yes they are parti-colored poodles and aren't intentionally bred. I also belong to a poodle board and I have seen a poodle such as the one you describe. There is also a parti-colored toy poodle that is a therapy dog at the convalescent home where my mother lives. Some people don't even realize that they are poodles because of their coloring. The woman who owns the therapy dog says that people are always asking what breed she is.

There is a breeder in my city that breeds parti-colour miniatures and toys. My co-breeder considered breeding her black toy poodle to her male, but black is apparently the hardest colour to break, so it's unlikely she would get partis in the litter anways.

Really? I had never heard of anyone doing that. I was always under the impression that parti-colored dogs couldn't even command the same price as a solid coated dog.

Parti colours are still registerable and can be shown in, if I remember correctly, everything but CKC and AKC.

    Here is a Champion parti..

I was reading on the Parti Poodle site, and I think they can be shown in everything but conformation. Here is the site I was looking at

I like parti poodles, personally. We groom a black and white one that is marked exactly like a panda bear. It's very cute! I know they are not "traditional", and normally I am a proponant of the traditional look in purebred dogs, but for some reason I have always thought parti poodles are striking.

    difference

I guess I'm different, but I usually end up wanting what's different. I don't want what everyone else wants.

I'd rather adopt. Say that in an alternate existence we could only buy dogs from breeders though... I'd pay more if i had to for an odd colored dog even if it was considered a major fault (so long as that color wasn't found to be specifically tied with some genetic problem.) I wouldn't care if people looked down on my dog for it. It only matters to me that my dog is special. (Up until the point where the is specific legislation against that color of dog.)

Like i said though. I'm different. While everyone else is trying to fit in, I'm trying my best to be least like everyone else. I want to be ME, not a clone of society.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.
