This thread brought back a funny memory. I came from a dog family; had dogs all my life. Once I was out on my own, I didn't really have the life style for a dog, so I lived alone for several years. I moved to RI and there were stray cats living in the parking lot, eating out of the dumpster. Some of the tenants put out kitty food. One cat caught my eye and, make a long story short, over 3 months I made contact with him and brought him in. My first cat!
Next morning, I took him in to the vet. After checking him out, informing me I had a HE (already neutered) not a SHE, and giving some shots, the vet told me, "Bring him back in 2 weeks for his next round of shots. Meanwhile, keep an eye on him, and when you come back let me know anything unusual."
And I replied, "Doc, everything he does is unusual. I mean, he doesn't bark, he meows!"![]()
Nine cats and 13 years later, my vet STILL reminds me of this!
