LOL! The little kids used to try to give the pup a piece of their doughnut - they wanted to share, and the pup was right at about their height. She finally had to tell the kids it was better for them to not share, to help puppy learn. I am not sure if she will do it again because giving him back was hard.
Praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine, and around the world.

I've been Boo'd ... right off the stage!

Aaahh, I have been defrosted! Thank you, Bonny and Asiel!

"That's the power of kittens (and puppies too, of course): They can reduce us to quivering masses of Jell-O in about two seconds flat and make us like it. Good thing they don't have opposable thumbs or they'd surely have taken over the world by now." -- Paul Lukas

I could never imagine after raising and training Sheena and tehn giving her up. That would have been very difficult.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Sheena when I first got her. She is wearing her Service Dog in Training Bandana and is only about 8 or 9 weeks old.

For anyone interested in service dogs for diabetes and / or seizures, here is a site for a group which trains them:

    http://www.heavenscentpaws.com/

I'm sure there are many other such groups. I heard about this one because Dad is diabetic, and we watch dlife most weeks on TV. (For anyone with diabetes, it is on CNBC on Sunday at 7 PM) The program did a segment on the woman and her family who started this organization. As I recall, she has 3 children with type 1 diabetes, and she couldn't keep up with everyone's low blood sugar levels. Somehow a dog they had started alerting her! And she took it from there.

This must be SO helpful to parents whose children could have a serious situation develop during the night while everyone is asleep. The dog is trained to respond and get the adults UP! (among other things)
