Isn't it a magnolia tree? It looks a lot like one.

I think they are called "saucer" magnolias.
They look like what we have in our yard. I planted them and they are called Jane Magnolias. They are on the side of the house and bloom in spring. We often have people stop to take pictures of them.
We also have one called a Royal Star Magnolia. The blooms are smaller and white and have lots of petals.

I think my grandmother used to have one in her yard? is the bark kinda darker in color and ruff feeling kinda? wonder if its the same one or it might not be if its a tree that only grows in certain areas of the states.
