What kind of flowering tree is this?

Absolutely not a magnoglia tree. I also have one of them and a magnoglia tree is completely different. For one Magnolia's a white and the tree is huge. The branches and leaves go almost right to the ground and the back side of the leaf is a brown color. The leaves are also very heavy and rubberish looking.

I think they are called "saucer" magnolias.

They look like what we have in our yard. I planted them and they are called Jane Magnolias. They are on the side of the house and bloom in spring. We often have people stop to take pictures of them.

We also have one called a Royal Star Magnolia. The blooms are smaller and white and have lots of petals.

I wasn't even thinking about the fact of different varieties. I was only thinking of the original or old fashion if you like magnolia tree that are huge with the big white flowers.

I think my grandmother used to have one in her yard? is the bark kinda darker in color and ruff feeling kinda? wonder if its the same one or it might not be if its a tree that only grows in certain areas of the states.
