I have not hunted for years but have a in-law that does and gives us venison every fall. It goes into jerky since I am the only one that eats it in our house...
I am just curious, and I know that changing the meat may cause upset too.. And I am also curious on the issue of parasite from the wild game.

Very good question- I have venison because of the lack of fat to be awfully rich. I can give it, but only a little bit.. I have never found having different meat is a problem- in game meat, you do not feed the intestines or liver .. All game meat is frozen prior to use to be safe. I never give it "fresh" without first being frozen for at least 48 hours..
