Are you out of your mind?! lol. Why would they not like meat? hahaha. I can't imagine...

I think Jenny is protesting kibble...
actually Duke was my concern. a few months ago, i had dropped a raw peice of chicken on the floor, while preparing dinner. Duke sniffed it and walked away! I was dumstruck! I thought he would do the same when I tried feeding raw.

I fed them Pork, and they loved it! I will continue with the pork for a while, then try another meat. I eventually will try chicken.

Do not flog me for asking this.

But what are the opinions on use of venison or other game besides the lack of fat with in the meat..
I have not hunted for years but have a in-law that does and gives us venison every fall. It goes into jerky since I am the only one that eats it in our house...
I am just curious, and I know that changing the meat may cause upset too.. And I am also curious on the issue of parasite from the wild game.

Let me step back now.. I am hoping this does not get off of the subject for wich it was started..

So in otherwords a corgi can be a
short stocky never ending fur ball
of fun..What the not so understanding
may call a pain in the rear...

Very good question- I have venison because of the lack of fat to be awfully rich. I can give it, but only a little bit.. I have never found having different meat is a problem- in game meat, you do not feed the intestines or liver .. All game meat is frozen prior to use to be safe. I never give it "fresh" without first being frozen for at least 48 hours..

I would feed it in a heartbeat, though I would freeze it first Unlike borzoimom I would feed the organs as well. As long as you freeze it solid for a week, it will kill any parasites that the deer may have carried. If it were me I'd feed a regular meal sized portion or possibly a small amount of boneless meat (1/2 lb or so) with an easy meal like a chicken quarter and then I'd just watch my dogs' stool for any problems.

We feed hearts- not livers but the reason is that in the valley they use alot of pesticides on their crops. That of course is retained in the liver. Where it not for the farmers below- I would as well.

My sister gave me some venison that had gotten old. I gave my fur kids a regular sized meal. They went nuts for it, they had no problems with it at all.
I wish I could get some more for them.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

As I said I have been feeding RAW since 79,
my guys get in the course of a year.....
    Venison
    Chevron
    Mutton
    Lamb
    Beef
    Pork
    Buffalo
    Duck
    Geese
    Chicken
    Elk
    Moose
    Ostrich
    Emu

they get all of the portions, organs , lights and brains.
as for the ostrich and the Emu, I have a friend that raises them in Ga. she brings with her a huge amount of what is usaleable to humans ie hearts lights etc. so I usually ahve a gift from her that will last me a few months.

this list of course doesnt include the eggs, yogurts, and treats and some veggies that they get.
Merry Holidays to One an All Blessed be

I feed venison too. I do not give much because with these guys, the lack of fat makes it rich- but they love it!

That could have been more dominance- meaning he knew it wasnt his and didnt want to uh make you mad if he took 'your dinner"... Put in his bowl, he would probably be fine.
