I think they spray only if threatened...and there is a 'neutering' type of surgery where the stink glands can be removed.

One day we were at the harbor to visit the feral cats. I saw one...so pretty....all black with a white stipe and flufy tail. Then I realized it was a skunk....then another! They co-exist quite happily with the feral cat community.
How sweet! I just love stories like these. It's amazing what mamma's will do for babies of other species!![]()
