    Closing and deleting threads?

I have a rather random question that I've been strangely pondering lately

Why is it some of that those threads that get a little, shall we say 'out of hand', are closed, whilst others are deleted? I know that sometimes the OP can delete the thread if he or she feels the need to do so, but I know it's not always the case and sometimes our mayor sees fit to delete them.

I just wondered if there was any way to distinguish between those threads that are simply closed to prevent people replying but can still view it and those that are deleted so no-one can do either.

    Thanks,

    Zara

I think the reason some are just closed is because people have put much thought into posts, and they are good insight for others, and it wouldn't be nice to delete them.

I think ones that are deleted are one's were all Hell breaks loose and emotions run high.

Some threads are closed when the thread has gotten way off topic and is no longer helpful, or fights that have deteriorated into bickering between a couple posters.

Some people delete thie own threads, I only delete threads that are hurtful either to the poster, or another Pet Talker, or ones that are just unacceptable in their tone and tenor. I always PM the person whose thread I delete, or I close.

Miss Hoppy is very good at eluding capture by strangers - and has been known to bite veterinarians and veterinary assistants, so, with "Dr." in front of your name, you might be fair game to get chomped!

Nah, she somehow knows a medical or veterinary professional on first sniff - then *chomp*! The name won't help! She's a very smart bunny, and a very determined one at that. She loves us, though, and we love our precious brown bunny!
