Plastic update: he also ate THIS! p.3

Oh Sherman, how could that possibly taste good? It sounds like you have gotten some good advice and are following through. Here's hoping that there will be a smoothe passage for that piece of plastic.

When Bella was a puppy she ate part of a wooden clothespin that my hubby was using to keep a bag of potato chips closed. I spent quite some time scrutinizing doggie poops after that (my neighbors probably thought I was a little funny in the head as I would take a stick and sort of disect it.....TMI LOL!). At least with snow on the ground it should make your hunt a little easier. Hope Sherman will do just fine.

(Glad I don't have to look through poo piles I have 12+ inches of snow on the ground!! I don't think I'd have any luck finding anything)

It was COLD outside when I had to do the Two-Dawg "poop check" for chickin bonez

After freezing my butt off *finding* (with a flashlight) and *sticking* mid-night poohs ...
I discovered the "magic of the baggie"!
* Turn a baggie inside out
* Use it like a poop-scoop bag - your hand INside the baggie
* RE-Turn the baggie outside in - (poop IN, hand out) - **Zip** the baggie!!
* retire to the warmth of the garage
* gently

*kneed* the bagged stuff ... looking & feeling for the sought-after "prize"

No MUSS, No Phuss, No STINK, easy disposal!

Talk about "TMI"

All that experience at the dogpark with poop bags is paying off. I nabbed his morning deposit and brought it in to thaw. Poking around was very productive...
several bits of blue plastic (the feeding scoop),
some bits of plastic of indetermined color (not sure what its from),
a piece of foil (the Yummie Chummie package perhaps?)
and one that threw me for a loop -
a green vinyl star about 1/2 " across! I have no idea what that came from

Sherman got some more high fiber this morning. I'm still a bit worried about the big chunk coming through, but things look promising. At least the "traffic" is moving!

*thanks for the baggie tip Phred, the smell is pretty obnoxious.

I'm glad to hear that things seem to me 'moving right along' so to speak

We had a husky/wolf mix when i was a lot younger (about 7 years old), and being the little s**t that i was, i was teasing him with a balloon - blowing it up and making it squeak at him - until i lost the grip on it, and it went zipping around the kitchen. *snap* right down the dog. Man, I was in such trouble

My mom frantically called the vet, who gave her some advice about feeding, and if the dog started having issues to bring him in to see them.

So, for the next few days we were dilligent on the poop-patrol, checking for the balloon to make its way out. And, a couple mornings later we came across the most disgusting surprise ... a half blown up balloon attached to a rather large dog offering.

And i guess, alls well that ends well in 'the end'

Phred this is a great idea! My only thought was that for this type of *operation* I would be sure to use the very best

(brings to mind a Hallmark commercial).

In other words, a Glad baggie or something reliable like that - no dollar store baggies that might *fail* for that job!

Pat, I am glad you are finding pieces of plastic. We will keep our fingers crossed that Sherman's plumbing keeps moving things right along.

I am now thinking that, with all of the other things that you have found, we all might be in for a surprise if we did sporadic poop exams!

OK, hugs are delivered! Well, I've kept up his high fiber diet, still getting lots of little chunks of plastic. I'm hoping this is a good sign that maybe he didn't swallow down any large chunks. He certainly seems energetic and his appetitie is as big as ever...just don't want him helping himself to any more treats Our unusual "scavenger hunt" will continue for a few more days...

Does he look guilty or what?
