What you don't know is that, like the other siblings (just not me) Lady's Human inherited Dad's morning demeanor - do not attempt conversation - (never mind cheerfulness) until at least 15 minutes and a cup of coffee have gone by the boards!

I, on the other hand, inherited Ma's naturally chipper morning demeanor - I just learned to curb it, so as not to get slaughtered by the others! Ma was immune, she was our mother! I, as a kid, was fair game.

Okay, I'll accept that as BARE minimum. Before the cup of coffee, I'm under what we call the 30-second rule in the military. For the 1st 30 seconds after someone wakes you up, you're not accountable for your actions short of murder. (UNLESS you were sleeping on duty)

I'm with Karen, and your mom, as when I wake up, I am definitely awake!!!!! But, my daughter and my husband are not, so I focus my energy on the "the cat", my precious Butter, and the dogs, who I normally have to wake up, too!!!
