LOL! I know! I heard the bird making a racket, opened up the browser and saw the antelope.

Did you see a couple of the young male antelope play-fighting? It looks like they have gone a way for the night.

Has anyone ever seen anything at night - apart from "shooting stars" that are really fireflies?

I haven't. But watching the moon move across the sky (via it's reflection in the pool) was neat.

No antelope there now but there is a hummingbird, I think, moving up and down rapidly very close to the cam. I thought at first it was a spider but I can see the rapid movement of its wings.

I got a shock about midnight (Pacific time) when I decided to click on the site before going to bed. There was a very large giraffe gliding along near the trees and the cam was focused tightly on it. After seeing smaller animals and at more of a distance, it did make me jump. Then I saw some low movement in the trees at a distance and wondered if it was a lion. I knew that I wouldn't be able to watch something like that happen live. But it was a group of gazelles (I think - do we have any experts here who can tell us whether we are seeing antelope, impala or gazelles? I don't even know which live in S. Africa.) Anyway, it was a group of very young ?gazelles and they were racing after each other and play fighting. Unfortunatley, I think the cam operator decided it was time for a tea break because it suddenly switched back to the empty water hole and held still.

Most of the time, the "deer" like animals are Impala's - not gazelle's or antelope.

I turned the camera on a little after 12, dang! The most I've seen is birds and a mongoose so far. I downloaded a cute program to take pictures when I see some animals!

Now when I go to the site I have to watch a commercial first and then the Africam video won't come in, just audio. If I refresh I have to watch another commercial, that stinks.
