Recording of MY baby's heartbeat in post 8 :)

According to the tracking info page, the baby doppler that I rented is on the delivery truck in my town RIGHT NOW!! It could be here any minute. I rented it from babybeat.com and am SO excited!!

Forgive my ignorance, but what's a baby doppler?

Is it like an ultrasound machine?

It is a device used in doctor's offices to listen to an unborn baby's heartbeat
They sell cheapo imitations at maternity stores but this is the real thing. I even had to get my doctor's permission to rent it.
I can't wait to listen to my little one's heartbeat!!

It has arrived and I've already been playing with it! I should have a recording up within the next 5-10 minutes

This is my baby's heart beat!! I couldn't hold the doppler, the probe, and the camera all at the same time so I recorded it onto the doppler and then took a video clip of the playback with my camera.
If you stick with it until about 30-31 seconds you can hear the little one kick/punch It sounds like a soft thunk

What an amazing sound!! I did hear the kick, too. That sound is just so soothing and comforting isn't it? My grandbaby!! I am really glad you were able to rent the device, Missy. I hope the new doctor is better than the one you have seen. I know they are busy - but they should also realize just how important it is to the mother to have this reassurance of hearing that heartbeat. I know HE listens but how much trouble is it to let YOU hear for even a few seconds??

That is so neat! We got to hear our little one's heartbeat at my last appointment, and it was pretty amazing.
