I don't ever see deer much in the back field because Bailey has a big mouth and they never make it out of the woods and into the clearing.
Major is not much of a barker- compared to a collie, but more than a Borzoi would be... Quite frankly- I could probably use a dog that would bark once in a while. Time after time- I have someone that comes to the door- even with the Borzoi dog decals on the door- when I open the door- the person is taken back to find 4 dogs at their nose height ( there is a step on the outside).. I get this alot " I didn't know you had dogs here...
I have noticed in living up here with the wildlife- the dogs lack of barking confuses the wildlife- its like they think that if the dog barked that means a warning and they can flee.. My dogs don't- and before the animal knows it, with the dogs speed, its on the animal. Sort of like a deer that has no clue a car is going that fast- same thing here...
