Awww, how adorable! I used to have hamsters all the time when I was a kid! My daughters had them when they were younger too! The last ones we had were a smaller kind ..... not what I used to get ... and they bit! I used to always get the sweet ones! LOL! I can't remember what my daughters got last time, but they looked more like mice.

Anyway, your baby is adorable! What does my girl Samantha think of it?

I will try to answer all the questions then I will post some more photos of Munchie in a new thread.

Karen, Munchie's color is Blue, when we looked at hamsters I wanted any color but black(my gerbils were black and so hard to photograph).

Click on the blue one, it looks just like Munchie.

Wenisrubber, when we got Munchie at the pet store the manager picked her up by the scruff of her neck. She was so wild, trying to bite him. My husband thought we should name her Chomper!
You shouldn't wake up the hamster or just reach in cage and grab it, you probably will get bitten then. I hand feed treats and pet Munchie while she is eating. I also don't try to pick her up unless she has been running in her wheel or rolling around in her ball and has gotten calmer. I do have a few photos of her in my pocket but it has been too hard to hold a camera and her at the same time and get a decent photo!

Kim, look at the link I posted about hamster colors. Munchie is a dwarf hamster, mouse sized with furry feet and tail. That is probably the kind your girls had. When you and I were kids I think there were only the Syrian hamsters which are bigger without fur on their feet.
Samantha has been very good with Munchie, she pretty much ignores her.
I will post a new thread with more photos of Munchie now, then I will post some new photos of Samantha in Cat General too.
