Your new pup is in a sad situation. Try to find a rescue group in your area maybe mix breed or beagle rescue. How did you adopt a dog but didn't know if you could give him a home? Did you move back in with your mom or your living arrangments change? Why won't your mom let you keep the dog at her house? Please don't give your dog to just anyone or back to the pound where he will have a very good chance to be put to sleep. Being a cute or nice dog won't help him much on death row.
