Animals are so amazing. While each one may show similar characteristics based on their breed, the animal will have its own distinct personality and quirks.
I had a beautiful Siberian Husky named "Kasha" who passed away before I joined the Air Force in 1994. I still miss her dearly and cry for her sometimes. We just had that sort of bond. I took her everywhere with me. She would even ride "shot gun" in my car (with her seatbelt on, of course). I know she's with God now and I pray for her too.
I think you have to let the animal choose you. Good luck in your decision!

I love any nordic breed, and many other breeds!! Here are a few, not in any order or anything:

Of course GREAT DANES! I live to learn all I can about the breed with hopes to someday own a few to show in conformation and run a giant breed rescue. Siberian Huskies are near and dear to my heart, but i don't see myself owning too many more.
