I'm so happy that this os almost over for you! My dad's estate issues were tough to deal with and I wasn't even the executor of his estate, my aunt was. I can't imagine what you both must have gone through.

Good for you for accepting payment. You deserve it. Enjoy Hawaii!

I'm kind of out of it, but didn't you say your niece was special needs?

Debby, Her brother is special needs and has severe autism. I suspect she is special needs also but has not been diagnosed. I have asked her to see a professional and she refuses. She is very bright in a lot of areas...I believe she may have aspergers syndrome, she is very socially retarded and very self centered so it is hard to deal with. I spoke with my doctor and his attitude was if she won't help herself wash your hands of it you need your health. I got her on my health insurance which will last until her birthday in may when she turns 23, I wish she would have used it but she won't.
don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die....

    I have been frosted!

Asperber's syndrome would certainly explain her behavior.

Either way, I'm happy that she'll be on her own and outta your hair. Kudos to you for taking care of that. It takes a big person to do that.

You and your family have been through a lot, and have handled yourselves admirably. Enjoy your vacation, you deserve it. I hope your neice does well on her own.

Congrats for selling the house!!! I'm so glad there is a light at the end of this tunnel for you. I think it is good that you are paying yourself - it is a lot of hard work and you deserve it. A trip to Hawaii is probably just what the doctor ordered for the whole family!

I have been looking at prices online and cancun is looking better price wise...we went 4 years ago and enjoyed the all inclusive part of cancun.

Depending on what part of California you're in, I just saw that ATA airlines is having a sale to Mexico. Something like $149 each way, but that was from Chicago. It might be cheaper for you.

We've gone through several inheritance estates - somehow there always seems to be some snarl up. I hope your nephew's funds get set up soon. It will all seem worth it while you are lying on a beautiful beach somewhere! What a nice treat for yourself & your family.
