"That's the power of kittens (and puppies too, of course): They can reduce us to quivering masses of Jell-O in about two seconds flat and make us like it. Good thing they don't have opposable thumbs or they'd surely have taken over the world by now." -- Paul Lukas

HUGS, Lori...hope this new and overwhelming stuff will become routine for you, like brushing your teeth.
Maybe there will be different levels of meds as your sugars settle?
Hope you feel more settled soon!

I am going to see a Endocrinology specialist,She is the one that will determine how much insulin i will need,I sure hope after i adjust to things i can cut back on the insulin my stomach is sure getting sore,My arms are real tender,And i cant give it to myself it is too awkward so i have been injecting my stomach and thighs...my fingers are sure sore too i ball my eyes out everytime i have to do it i have never enjoyed needles,it is even harded having to give them to yourself rather then someone else doing it,Jamie has been great i do not know what i would do withought him he is amazing.
WELCOME HOME! I'm sorry you have such a huge adjustment and lifetime change, but thank GOD you caught it in time!!! I was diagnosed with type II about 2.5 years ago and it floored me as well! You are having to take much more medication than I am, so I can imagine how overwhelmed you must be right now.I'm not sure if you use the pen to test on your fingers, but if you do, be sure you have it on the lightest setting! It barely even touches you and hurts MUCH less than a higher setting!
You adjust the pressure by twisting the end .... smaller dots, less pressure. Oh, also be sure to use a new needle each time ... a dull needle hurts worse!

Thank goodness things are under more control for you, and that you are *home*!!! The few times I have been hospitalized as an adult, I spend time arguing "I'd get better faster at home!" until they let me go. (It has been when I got a cold that sunk to my chest and kicked in with the asthma - never good.)
