Yes, Karen sounds like ME as well! Glad I could vote on both YES items.
I had contacts for 21 years and LOVED them. Just used my glasses early morning and late at night, before the contacts went in and after they came out. I really enjoyed contacts. It took me 2 WEEKS of going in to the doctor's office every day to learn to put them in and take the contacts out. They won't let you take contacts home until you can get them "on" and "off" easily. During that 21 year, no one but family saw me in my glasses, no one even knew I had contacts.
Then I got older . . . .![]()
Three years ago, one June afternoon, I headed out to the back yard to do one of my favorite things: sit in the sun with a glass of ice tea and read a murder mystery. I had my contacts in. I needed my $1 pair of reading glass to see the book, and my sunglasses on top of all of that. Sigh. Every time Dad asked me something, I'd look up, take off the sun galsses, remove the readers, put the sunglasses back on, and chat with him. Then my eyes started watering so I went in and took out the contacts and put on my regular glasses. And then the readers. And then the sun glasses. MY NOSE WASN'T LONG ENOUGH TO HOLD EVERYTHING IN PLACE !!!!!!![]()
Called the eye doc for an appointment that same afternoon. Since then, I have not worn contacts ever again. I got a pair of prescription transitions lens with the built in sun protector. WONDERFUL! And folks who had known me for years asked about my "new" glasses, ha ha ha.
