I got a new coat, which I needed in the worst way. It has really atrocious, obviously fake fur around the hood, but I wouldn't have chosen it if it had real fur. I couldn't have worn that in good conscience. It is really warm and I needed a coat. My good coat is a wool blend. I go to a church in a very affluent suburb and there are a lot of fur coats there in winter. Mostly on older ladies. I think there was a different standard of wearing fur in the past because my mother had a fur coat when I was little and so did my grandmother. I heard a commercial on the radio for a local furrier offering deep discounts on chinchilla, beaver and other furs. Gives me the shivers. Make mine microfiber, please! (With synthetic filling, cause I'm allergic to down.)Originally Posted by moosmom
